Dear members of E.C.E.R., we are happy to invite you on behalf of Roman Traditional Movement to the 16th European Congress of Ethnic Religions, which will take place in the heart of the Mediterranean, in Rome, 19th to 22th April 2018 with focus on theme draft “Heathenism Rituals and their Sources”.
PROGRAM
The program provides for your arrival in Rome on Wednesdays afternoon/evening, April 18, and the departure on Sunday after noon, April 22. For those who leave Monday, an optional program is expected for Sunday.
All accommodation, conferences, events, cultural visits and lunches will take place in the center of Rome within easy reach on foot or by bus.
18th April – Wednesday
Arrival of participants in Rome and hotel accommodation in Castro Pretorio area.
Free evening.
19th April – Thursday
Palazzo Ferraioli, Piazza Colonna, 355, Roma (reachable in 20 minutes by bus or on foot)
9:00 Registration of participants, payment of registration fee, congress information sharing.
9:30 Press conference and Introduction.
10:00 – 13:00 Presentation of participants (I). 15 minutes available for each group / association.
13:00 – 14:00 Lunch (next to the conference room).
14:00 – 18:00 Presentation of participants (II). 15 minutes available for each group / association.
18:30 – 19:00 Religious Ceremony.
19:45 Night visit to the August Forum at Fori Imperiali Avenue. Spectators are accompanied by footage and rebuilding that show the places as they were at that time: an exciting and at the same time rich in information from great historical and scientific rigor. Eight available languages (Italian, English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese) .
21:15 Dinner on reservation in restaurant with convenience.
20th April – Friday

9:00 – 13:00 Seminars for public on topic “The Heathenism Rituals and their Sources” (I).
13:00 – 14:00 Lunch (next to the conference room).
14:00 – 18:00 Seminars for public on topic “The Heathenism Ritual and their Sources” (II).
18:30 Visit to the Pantheon, the famous roman temple of all gods, which has come to us intact as it was 2000 years ago (it’s 5 minutes from the conference venue and close at 7,30 pm).
20.30 Dinner on reservation (restaurant with convenience).
21th April – Saturday – Dies Natalis Romae, MMDCCLXXI a.U.c
Excursion day at the Palatino hill, Imperial Forums and Colosseum
8:30 Departure from hotel .
Four km of walk.
9:00 Arrival to Via di S. Gregorio, at the entrance to the Imperial Forums.
9:30 Guiding tour regarding the history and the legends and views on the landscape of imperial palaces on Palatino hill, houses of emperors and Romolo’s huts.
Religious Ceremony on Palatino hill. To follow, Arch of Tito, House of the Vestals, Basilica Ulpia, Temple of Verere and Rome, Sacred Avenue, Temple of Saturn, Ara of Caesar, Senate, Arch of Septimius Severus.
12:30 Show of the Historical parade (could also be held on Sunday).
13:30 Picnic near by the Arch of Costantino.
15:00 – 18:00 Guiding tour the Colosseum.
18:00 – 19:00 Return to the hotels.
19:00 Private ritual to Goddess Pale and Goddess Rome at the headquarters of the MTR. For space reasons only Heads of Delegations can attend the ceremony, if they wish.
Free evening.
22th April – Sunday
Auditorium Via Bezzecca (?), Roma
8:30 – 12:30 Congress day
13:00 Congressional conclusion and committal.
For the participants who stay, is expected a picnic outdoors among the ruins and a visit to the Archaeological Park of Appia Antica Street, Regina Viarum; the park is half an hour’s drive from the center of Rome and can be reached by bus; you can easily visit on foot or rent bicycles.
COSTS
REGISTRATION: To register, you must fill out the registration form on the ECER website. The cost of registration for the Congress is €50, which must be paid in cash when you arrive at the event in Rome.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
We’ll notify you the accommodation details and costs after you fill out and submit the registration form. We have made arrangements with an inexpensive but nice hotel in the center of Rome, breakfast included.
Accommodation will be booked according to the number of participants.
Cultural appointments
The cost of the entrance ticket to the Augusto Forum by night and to the Palatine Hill/Imperial Forums//Colosseum will be listed separately: we’ll communicate you costs and time of booking in due time. The visit to the Pantheon and to the Archaeological park of Appia Antica street are free.
Meals
All lunches and dinners are paid directly by participants.
